File Recovery

The magicrescue application, from http://jbj.rapanden.dk/magicrescue/, is a useful and often successful file recovery and undelete application for GNU/Linux. It will scan a block device (like you hard drive that is formatted with an ext3 file system--but any file system is supported) for file types it knows how to recover. An external program is then called to extract the files.
