Playing Digital Music |
Digital music players (generally supporting at least ogg and many other formats) abound for Debian. These players will generally load in a library of ogg files and allow you to search, order, and manage them in various ways and to varying degrees. Some will display album cover art work, and allow the editing of the file tag information stored in the digital media files.
The Debian offerings include the Gnome quodlibet and the traditional xmms. Other players include the Gnome rhythmbox which can also play stream audio from the Internet and supports the Apple iPod. The Gnome beep-media-player is an excellent variation of xmms ported to Gnome.
